Travis wanted a truck that he could be proud of. With the millions of trucks on the road today, he knew that his needed to stand out amongst all of the average. At the MATS in Louisville this past March, Travis had the opportunity to meet a man that would change his entire trucking career. Dave Brown happened to be featuring his DB Kustom Truck at the truck event. Travis found himself standing next to Dave, admiring his truck. He mentioned that his entire goal was to get to where Dave is, by owning a custom built truck too. Dave quickly let him know that he could easily get him in one. Dave’s response to his statement caught Travis by surprise. Dave continued to explain how the program worked.

The process began the middle of April and a month later Dave had Travis standing right in front of his very own DB Kustom Truck. Travis chose the color purple as his signature color, representing his days spent serving in the Navy. He dedicated 4 years in aviation fuel before turning to trucking as a profession. The color purple was his only option and what felt right. “I wanted my truck to remind me of where I came from.” During his month of waiting, Dave handled all of Travis’s questions concerning his dream truck. Back and forth, the two designed what Travis describes as his dream truck. When the call came, Travis drove up to Joliet, Illinois to the hotel that Dave reserved for him. Then the next morning the guys headed straight to Travis’s truck. When he arrived, he was filled with emotions. “When I first saw my truck, it was washed, waxed and ready to go. I had about a seven hour drive back, but I was like a kid on Christmas day! I just didn’t think this was possible.” Not only does Travis appreciate Dave for putting him in his own DB Kustom Truck, but also the mentoring that Dave has provided. “The mentorship was the best. Since Dave also works with me at Quality Carriers, he’s always helping me get the right loads. The good, high paying loads. It wasn’t just the fact that he helped get me this truck. You add that, plus he continues to help me in my career to see that I’m successful. I appreciate everything that he has done for me.”
